Infant Ibuprofen Continues To Be A Problem

On Behalf of | Feb 16, 2019 | Product Liability

We already knew that there was a nationwide recall of infant ibuprofen sold by a New Jersey company, but now we have heard that the recall has been expended. Earlier this year, we learned that their infant ibuprofen may contain a higher concentration of the drug than labeled. Tris Pharma, Inc. expanded the voluntary recall that has already affected stores like Walmart, CVS Pharmacy, and Family Dollar. The expanded recall mainly affects Walmart and CVS.
While the company has not reported any serious adverse effects related to these products, they do not want to take any chances.

They say that there is a possibility that the increased dosage can cause permanent kidney failure in infants. Other side effects include nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, and vomiting.

At Licata & Yeremenko, A Professional Law Corporation, we know that this is just one of the thousands of potentially harmful products that consumers can encounter each year. If you need a California defective product attorney, call us today so we can secure the compensation you deserve.

Is This A Major Problem?

Think about how many products you use on a daily basis. From starting with your morning routine, going through your workday, to heading to sleep at night, you encounter and use more products than you can count. Your vehicle alone has parts from dozens of different companies.

Can you be sure that everything you use and consume is safe?

Take a look at the government recall website that keeps track of all the current recalls going on across the country. You will notice that faulty products are in every industry. They include vehicles, car seats, toys, medications, foods, appliances, and more.

We hear about some of these products on the news at night. Sometimes it is an E. coli outbreak or a vehicle that catches fire. We have seen airbags and batteries that explode.

Faulty products are everywhere and happen in a variety of ways. Sometimes they are poorly designed or experiencing a manufacturing mistake that alters their design. Other times, they are labeled incorrectly (wrong dosages, instructions, ingredients, allergens, hazard labels, etc.).

Faulty products can cause major harm, including:

  • Lacerations
  • Broken bones
  • Allergic reactions
  • Serious illness

There are some products that cause long-term damage that is not immediately visible, as we have seen with some products containing unknown carcinogens.
